In Loving Memory of Edward Jung

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our president Edward Jung, who left us peacefully on July 17, 2025. Ed served as a board director for the Chinatown Museum Foundation (CMF) since 2017 and as President of the Board for the past five years, where he led with passion and commitment until his last days.

Ed cared deeply about the Chinese American Museum of Chicago and its mission to preserve and share the rich, complex history of Chinese Americans. His vision centered on fostering connections across generations and ensuring CAMOC serves as a vibrant, inclusive space for everyone who came through its doors.

CAMOC flourished under his tenure—expanding its staff, broadening the scope of its exhibitions and programs, and building a dynamic community through thoughtful partnerships. His wisdom and vision for CAMOC will endure as our North Star.

Ed was loving, caring, and kind. He was not only our president but also our mentor and a friend. Ed’s generous leadership, commitment to excellence, steadfast presence, and cheerful good humor will forever remain in our hearts. We at CMF and CAMOC will miss Ed dearly. Our deepest condolences go to his family.

Please join us in honoring his life and legacy. Services will be held Sunday, August 9th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Therese Chinese Catholic Church, 218 W. Alexander St., Chicago, IL 60616. To learn more about Ed’s remarkable life, please see his full obituary here.
