Angel Island Webinar

Angel Island Immigration Station which opened from 1910 to 1940, was a notorious station of detention and exclusion as well as arrival.  In its time it processed hundreds of thousands of immigrants, many of them from China, some of whom later settled in Chicago and the midwest.  During their internment, many endured harsh interrogations, long detentions and left behind poignant Chinese poetry carved into the barrack walls.  Please join Angel Island Immigration Station Executive Director Ed Tepporn with special guests Historian Connie Young Yu and Journalist Christopher Chow as they explore the history and significance of Angel Island.

This webinar is a rare collaboration between participating Chinese American Museums including the Chinese American Museum of Chicago.
