The Chinese American Museum of Chicago – Raymond B. & Jean T. Lee Center is excited to announce the opening of a new temporary exhibition, The Chinese War Brides Act – H.R. 4844, a collaboration with the Chinese American Citizens Alliance (美州同源會)- Chicago Chapter. We thank the Chinese American Citizens Alliance – National Lodge for its generous loan.

Come see the documents and pen used by President Harry S. Truman to sign H.R. 4844 into law. The Chinese War Brides Act helped create a newly structured family system and stabilized the Chinese American communities.
