CAMOC Spotlight Alumna Lights Up Times Square

Congratulations to artist Yuge Zhou, whose Moon Drawings series was featured in CAMOC’s Spotlight Series exhibition in September–October 2022. This summer, Zhou returned to the spotlight with her breathtaking new project Trampoline Color Exercise, which lit up Times Square every midnight throughout June.

From June 1–30, 2025, Zhou’s mesmerizing moving-image collage lit up over 95 billboards in the heart of New York City as part of Times Square Arts’ Midnight Moment. Drawing from archival Olympic Games footage, Zhou reimagined leaping gymnasts into a hypnotic, ever-shifting mosaic of color and form. The work reflects on the pursuit of perfection, the human body, and global interconnectedness, subtly nodding to national flags and shifting allegiances in today’s geopolitical climate.

Much like Moon Drawings—inspired by longing across distances—Trampoline Color Exercise explores themes of movement, identity, and connection on a grand scale.

We’re proud to celebrate Yuge Zhou and her continued dedication to bridging cultures through art.
